Submission Instructions

Submission Instructions

Prospective contributors are encouraged to submit their original research results, practice and experience reports, or novel applications as a paper of up to 8 pages length. Longer papers will be accepted but are expected to make additional significant contributions. The review process will be double-blind.

As in previous years, the proceedings will be published in color, in the Eurographics Digital Library.

All submissions must comply with the EG publication style. Additionally, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • papers must be written in English
  • typical submissions do not exceed 8 pages, including references and figures
  • longer papers are expected to make additional contributions.
  • each paper must start with an abstract
  • papers must not contain previously published work and must not be submitted concurrently to other conferences or journals
  • accepted papers must be presented at the symposium by one of the authors
  • submissions must be anonymized for the double-blind review. This includes entering the paper ID generated by the electronic submission system into the authors field of the paper template, and leaving the affiliations blank. When accepted, the camera-ready version has to be provided with author names and affiliations.
  • additional materials can be uploaded with the submission. They will be reviewed, and will be included on the conference proceedings USB stick for accepted submissions.

Papers and supplemental material are to be submitted using the SRM Submission System.
A LaTeX-Template is available here. Accepted papers will have to be provided in camera-ready format until the camera-ready deadline, together with a signed copyright form (a download and upload link is available on the SRM submission page, choosing „Upload file“ and then „CC-BY-License), and have to be presented orally at the symposium.

Presentation Instructions

Due to the high amount of high quality papers and limited number of slots for oral presentations, it was decided to accept some papers as posters only. Those papers are still published in the conference proceedings as full papers, but will be presented only during the poster sessions.

Oral Presentations

A time slot of 20 minutes is available for each paper. The actual talk should not exceed 15 minutes, leaving 5 minutes for discussion.

Poster Presentations

Posters should be in portrait format and A0 dimensions (841 mm x 1189 mm). VMV 2023 will take care of the printing and displaying of the posters, thus, we kindly ask the authors to submit their posters via e-mail to vmv2023org@cg.cs.tu-bs.de by the 11th of September, 2023.

Additionally, on Wednesday the 27th and directly before the poster session hosted at the reception location, we will have a poster fast-forward. Authors whose paper is presented as a poster, should prepare a 90 second video and submit it via e-mail to vmv2023org@cg.cs.tu-bs.de by the 18th of September, 2023. All submitted video presentations will be combined into a pre-recorded large one that will be played automatically, so authors will not be able to extend their time on stage. You do not need to add a title slide for your video, we will do so while compiling all presentations. Take this opportunity to convince all attendees why they should definitely visit your poster!
